CIEH Foundation Course in Health and Safety in the Workplace
This a level 1 qualification, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Chadwick House Group Ltd, Chadwick Court,15 Hatfields, London SE1 8DJ Tel: 020 7928 6006, to provide essential knowledge and understanding of health and safety for employees working in any sector of business, whether manufacturing, commerce, public sector or the service industries.
Topic areas covered
Health and Safety law, the prevention of accidents and ill health, risk assessment, first aid at work, personal protective equipment, workplace health, safety and welfare, work equipment, electricity, fire prevention, hazardous substances, ergonomics and workstation design, manual handling and noise.
Objectives
By the end of the course the student will be able to:
- Work in safe and healthy manner and help contribute to improving health and safety within an organisational policy
- Identify key hazards in their own workplace
- Understand the importance of health and safety rules and working procedures
- Report potential health and safety problems
- Be responsible for their own actions
Course length: One day
Assessment : 30 multiple choice questions.
