CIEH (New) Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in Health and Social Care
Based on the first part of the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace – an introduction to health and safety adapted for health and social care – and the CIEH Level 2 Award in Hygiene, this qualification provides candidates with a good understanding and knowledge of health and safety in the health and social care sector.

The training programme is divided into two parts: Part 1 An introduction to health and safety, Part 2 Hygiene and covers the following topics

- Cleaning
Objectives
By the end of the course the student should be able to understand the:
- Health, safety and welfare of staff and patients/clients in the health and social care sector
- Importance of risk assessment in the prevention of accidents and occupational ill-health
- Relevant legislation relating to good hygiene practice
- Concepts of hygiene hazards and infection control
- Importance of good personal hygiene
- Need for high standards of cleanliness to help prevent infection
Course Duration: One day
Final Test: 30 multiple choice questions to be completed in one hour under examination conditions
Certification: Candidates who achieve 20 or more correct answers will pass the examination and receive a certificate.
